Reliable Flat Roof Replacement For Cardiff & South East Wales

As you probably know, an ageing flat roof can leave you dealing with recurring leaks, damaged coverings, and uncertainty every time heavy rain arrives in South Wales.  Here at Redland Roofing, we provide flat roof replacements across Cardiff and South East Wales, helping homeowners renew roofs on extensions, garages and outbuildings twith one of our carefully chosen replacement roofing solutions.

Our approach begins with understanding just what has gone wrong. We take a look at the condition of the existing roof and then explain whether replacement is appropriate for you, what the work might involve, and which materials best suit your property. You then receive straightforward advice and a clear quotation from us before deciding how and if you wish to proceed.

Does your flat roof need replacing?

Repeated leaks, widespread cracking, lifting joints, and deteriorating coverings can suggest that a flat roof needs more than another patch. Persistent pooling of water also deserves further investigation, particularly where previous repairs have failed to solve the underlying problem.

Of course these signs don’t automatically mean that your whole roof needs replacing. Where damage is limited and the surrounding roof remains good, flat roof repairs may be the sensible option. On your behalf we assess the roof before recommending any work, so that you fully understand why a repair or replacement is being recommended.

Choosing your replacement roof covering

We work a lot with flat roofing materials that include EPDM rubber membranes and felt. EPDM is a favourite of ours because it provides a flexible covering with resistance to sunlight and changing weather conditions like those found in South Wales. Felt is another practical option for many garages, extensions, and smaller flat roofs and of course we will recommend to you which is the best choice.

The choice depends on your existing roof, the use of the space underneath it, and your budget that’s available. We explain the available options and their maintenance needs to you without making the decision unnecessarily complex to understand. Our roofing materials guide provides you with more information about some of the systems we use for flat roof solutions.

What happens during a flat roof replacement?

We begin by taking a look at the existing covering, accessible supporting timbers, and current drainage arrangements. Our quotation then sets out the proposed work, including removal of old materials where needed and preparation for the replacement roof.

Once the old covering is lifted by us, previously concealed damage may become visible. If further work is needed we explain what we have found and discuss the next steps with you. A replacement covering needs a suitable base, the problems beneath the surface should be taken care of as part of the agreed work.

We pay close attention to roof edges, joints, and connections with adjoining walls, as well as how rainwater leaves the roof. We also discuss any relevant insulation requirements with you. After the replacement installation is complete we check the finished work and explain how to look after your new roof.

Local advice and a clear plan.

Our Cardiff roofing team understands that replacing a roof is a very significant decision. That’s why we explain the scope, discuss access and scheduling with you, plus keep you informed as the job progresses, of course.

If you are building a new extension or outbuilding, then rather than replacing an existing roof, see our flat roof installation service.
